Overview

STAFF ACCOUNTANT

 

 

US Diagnostics is a division of the Demant Group, a world-leading hearing healthcare group playing a vital part in developing innovative technologies and know-how to help improve people’s hearing and health. The Staff Accountant will be a part of the shared service group supporting entities within the US Diagnostics Division; their responsibility is to ensure accounting records are maintained daily for accurate financial reporting between each Diagnostic entity.

Responsibilities

 

  • Maintain daily records in ERP system.
  • Prepare and/or review journal entries to support accurate and timely accounting for month-end close.
  • Prepare and/or review account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness. Research exceptions and coordinate with other departments to resolve issues.
  • Process payables and receivables timely for supported entities.
  • Optimize processes to improve efficiency.
  • Assist management in identifying opportunities for financial improvement and cost reduction.
  • Analyze financial results and explain variances.
  • Evaluate revenue and expense trends and report projected results to management.
  • Assist Controller and Finance Director with financial projections and preparation of annual budget.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations timely and resolve discrepancies with local business partners.
  • Assist in distributing financial data to the field.
  • Actively participate in team meetings to share information and insights.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 2-3 years’ experience or 5+ years bookkeeping experience
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, continually changing/growing environment with proven ability to adapt and learn to support the business.
  • Previous experience in a shared-service environment a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (Manipulation and creation of Pivot Tables and utilization of V-Lookups & Sum-Ifs)
  • Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • External and internal customer service orientation relating to a shared service environment.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities –projects, resource, budgetary and operational planning, with string goal definition/desired results skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Detail oriented, with impeccable follow through.
  • Understanding of and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
