Overview

CONTROLLER - NETWORK, Somerset, NJ

 

The Financial Controller will be responsible for the overall financial integrity and accuracy of the Demant US Networks Division.  This includes, but is not limited to, the integrity of the division’s balance sheet and profit and loss statement, budgeting, forecasting, planning or financial analysis functions, close proactive business partnering from a financial perspective, with an emphasis on customer service, and internal audit as needed. This role is an integral member of the Finance and Shared Service Leadership Team, and partners closely with the President of the Networks Division and their management team.  Core competencies of the successful team member will include subject matter expertise of Accounting and Finance, with an understanding of both GAAP and IFRS standards, a strong ability to financially control and partner starting with the balance sheet, strong analytical abilities, particularly in dealing with profit and loss statements, a proven ability to lead a team of professionals and to manage change, a strong sense of professional skepticism, and a commitment to continuous team, self and process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and lead a team of financial professionals
  • Overall responsibility for hiring, retention, performance management, employee development, etc. and build a high performing team
  • Oversee the preparation and ensure accuracy of financial reports
  • Partner with the Networks management team around strategic decisions, process support and insight-driven analysis.
  • Analytical support and project management for special projects
  • Participate in monthly business reviews by providing insightful advice and recommendations to leadership
  • Perform analysis of financial results or projections and prepare presentations highlighting underlying drivers of performance, emerging trends and risks or opportunities
  • Perform and lead all aspects of the annual budget submission as well as the projection cycles
  • Overall responsibility of month-end close through completeness and accuracy of journal entry preparation and account reconciliations
  • Influence stakeholders in applying practical business oriented decisions while working in a cross-functional and multi-divisional environment
  • Understand the impact to direct area of responsibility, but maintain an understanding of the broader financial and business impacts
  • Monitor internal controls and segregations of financial duties, and recommend changes as needed
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset to streamline accounting functions and financial operations

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree from an accredited institution. Finance or Accounting degree required
  • MBA preferred
  • Minimum seven years of diversified Accounting and Finance experience
  • Durable Medical Equipment industry experience a plus
  • Confidentiality, time-sensitivity, accuracy, and follow-through continually expected
  • Ability to manage demanding workload and to demonstrate resiliency during stressful or high-stake situations
  • Ability to build strong business relationships with all team members levels
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing priorities and initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to summarize information in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to research and interpret regulatory guidance and third-party contracts
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills – phone, in person, for correspondence
  • Ability to work independently, with ambition and bias for action, while also receiving and prioritizing support needs of a team
