Overview

The Collections Supervisor oversees the day-to-day process involved with collecting payment on past due accounts, order releases and evaluating credit risk. This role will supervise a team of 5-7 collectors and help evaluate individual team member’s performance and development. This is a “working” supervisor role; the individual will be responsible for collection and credit activities on their own account portfolio.

The Supervisor will lead by example, with a team-player mindset, and drive accountability with each team member.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily collection activities for key accounts, monitor payment trends and delinquency; take the necessary actions to resolve including working with collection agencies.
  • Review and monitor accounts and all applicable collection reports to identify issues attributing to account delinquency.
  • Ensure compliance to company credit and collection policies.
  • Discuss risky or problematic accounts with AR Manager and Sales teams.
  • Work with AR Manager and Credit Analysts to evaluate credit limits for customers.
  • Collaborate with Cash Supervisor on account reconciliation and unapplied cash issues.
  • Assist with overseeing and delegating AR inbox inquires.
  • Assist with month end tasks.
  • May perform miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by manager.

 

Qualifications

  • BS Degree required, preferably Finance/Accounting or related major.
  • Minimum of 3 years of AR/Collections and supervisory experience.
  • Proven ability to supervise and develop staff.
  • Advanced Excel skill level along with Microsoft Suite applications.
  • Ability to interface with all levels of the organization providing high level of customer service in every aspect.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be highly organized with extreme attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, critical thinking and time-management skills.
  • Root cause analysis skills, ability to foresee potential challenges and be prepared with solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience/maturity to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Teamwork, flexibility, and a professional demeanor are required.
