The successful candidate will understand the distribution model, have strong channel sales experience, know what motivates customers to buy and know how to tap into those needs and desires in an effective way. The DMR Channel Manager will be part of an experienced team of sales associates working together and separately to increase the sales success of our Direct Marketing Reseller partners.  

Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director of Channels, the DMR Channel Manager is responsible to work in conjunction with a team of Channel Business Managers in the development and execution of account plans for a book of business that includes the company’s largest and most high profile DMR partners. The DMR Channel Manager is a strategic advisor who engages with internal and external peers and directly with strategic partners to foster positive business relationships while creating an engaged high-performance culture.

 

  • Ability to develop, implement, and execute account plans and channel programs to drive profitable revenue growth at DMRs
  • Educate DMR partners and augment existing field resources; drive awareness of our brand
  • Schedule meetings with DMR sales teams and maintain a strong appointment calendar
  • Generate and maintain opportunity/revenue pipeline; help account managers close deals
  • Make joint prospecting/sales calls with partners
  • Gather intelligence and submit timely reports on the state of business
  • Organize content and train representatives on products, promotions and programs
  • Conduct partner floor days, promotions, lunch and learns, and other events
  • Attend and present at regional events when necessary
  • Create and maintain effective partner relationships
  • Maintain effective communication with manager and other DMR managers

Qualifications

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required. 10+ years’ experience with a significant history of sales performance may be substituted for education requirement.
  • 3-5 years of successful sales performance in the technology industry
  • 2 years’ experience selling into DMR channel preferred (channel partner sales experience required)
  • This position will be based in Chicago area with frequent work at DMR partner 
  • Strong competency with MS Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Effective use of company CRM and BI tools. (e.g. Salesforce, JDE)
  • Strong Financial Experience with the ability to track and forecast revenue
  • This position requires frequent travel, up to 50%.
