Oversee the overall payroll processes & procedures for 20+ companies/FEINs and processing payroll for over 3,500 + employees.  


  • Oversee payroll to ensure timely and accurate process and payments for a multi-state organization, review Payroll registers for accuracy and ensure proper withholdings of garnishments.
  • Build and cultivate business relationships with customers and various stakeholders, while implementing process to achieve high levels of customer service.
  • Oversee the compliance with the applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting and taxation requirements.
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures and best practices; build and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for payroll processes
  • Recommend improvements leading towards operational or systems enhancement, policy or procedural changes, etc.
  • Oversee internal/external policies, procedures, and federal and state regulations affecting the calculation and taxation of accurate payrolls are followed. Effectively communicate regulatory issues impacting payroll and/or tax compliance and make any necessary changes to processes and procedures.
  • Partner with Accounting and Treasury functions to ensure payroll transactions are posted accurately.
  • Work closely with HR and HRIS regarding any problems, discrepancies or issues with the payroll processing as well as hires, terminations, and intercompany transfers.
  • Evaluates current systems, and recommends and develops operating efficiency improvements, analyze complex and sometimes limited data sets to identify patterns indicative of system/configuration issues and report to UKG (UltiPro).
  • Provide ongoing guidance, coaching, training to ensure proper supervision of payroll team

May perform miscellaneous tasks/projects as directed by manager


  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or related field
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Payroll, with at least two years of experience in managing Payroll for a large workforce with complex pay polices,
  • In depth knowledge of US payroll regulations and reporting requirements, including multi-state payroll experience
  • UKG (UltiPro) experience is a plus
  • Intermediate skills utilizing Microsoft suite applications,
  • Ability to deal with confidential and sensitive materials and maintain high level of integrity.
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with client groups at differing levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
